Favorite Five | Five Verses

If you need some encouragement or motivation today, I hope that these five verses are able to help you in some way. They are five of my favorites.

1.) Psalm 30:5

This is one of the first ones I fell in love with. In some episode of teenage angst, I found this verse, highlighted it, circled it, wrote it down everywhere, memorized it. It has always stuck with me. Sad times come. Frustrating times will not leave you forever. But, God promises joy after we get through it. I love the light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel hope I receive when I read this verse.

2.) John 14:18

This was another one I found during those tough teenage years. What a promise! I have found this scipture to be true over and over again in my life.

I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you."

3.) 1 Chronicles 28:10

When I need to muster up some courage for a difficult task, I quote the end of this verse to myself like a mantra. If what I need to do will be blessing, I believe that God has given me the tools to get it done.

Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it. (emphasis mine)

4.) Deuteronomy 28

This chapter starts off with a promise, and a covenant. If we will follow the Lord, then his blessings shall overtake us. Living a life for God is unquestionably the greatest decision I’ve ever made. These promises are amazing. Read the whole chapter!

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

5.) John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

He has overcome this world! I love his promises. What are some of your favorites
