Happy New Year!

Last year was full of uncertainty. Coming off maternity leave in January and walking straight into the chaos of COVID definitely wasn’t what I expected. For a while, I wasn’t sure if I’d have any sessions at all in 2020. This meme summed up my marketing strategy perfectly — and honestly, it still makes me laugh.

But even in a year that didn’t go quite as planned, I had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful families (from a safe distance, mask on, of course!).

As part of my workflow, I always pull a few favorite images from each session and tuck them into a folder. Then I meet with clients and let them choose their favorites. The funny thing? My picks are almost never the ones they choose — and I love that. Photography is emotional, personal, and beautifully subjective. What grabs my heart might be different from what grabs yours, and that’s exactly what makes this work so special. It’s also why I love providing a gallery full of strong, meaningful options.

So without further ado… here are my favorite photos from each of my 2020 sessions!

This family has become so special to me. I got to see them 3 times this year and they are already on the books twice for next year. So thankful! I love mom’s expression, full of love for her little man.

Extended family photography sessions like this are so fun. Especially when the people at the session are like family. This is my best friend and her gorgeous, wonderful family.

I loved loved loved this family photo session. I have permission to share this picture, but none of the others as they want to protect their children’s privacy. I respect that! But man, I wish you could see the pure magic that this session was.
