The Smith Five met me at one of my favorite new shooting locations on the south side of Mishawaka. Isn’t it pretty? The mix of textures, the soft, flattering evening light, and the surrounding grasses create such a warm and inviting atmosphere—couldn’t have asked for a better spot!

Getting those everyone-smiling photos of your family is important to me, but so are the in-between moments, playful shots, and candid expressions. After we got the "traditional" family pictures, we just started having fun. You know what they say: The family who chicken fights together, stays together! Or at least, that’s how it goes in my world, right?
I consider myself a modern traditional portrait photographer. While I’m all about those candid, documentary-style shots, I’m also a sucker for at least one photo where everyone gives me their best smile. I think we nailed the perfect mix during this session, don’t you agree? Couldn’t love it more.
