FilmingLife Academy ArtHouse Film | On The Go
I’m so honored to receive an Honorable Mention for the FilmingLife Academy’s ArtHouse: On The Go challenge!
You’ve probably heard the saying, “The best camera is the one you have with you.” This challenge put that idea to the test by requiring filmmakers to create an entire piece using just an iPhone, GoPro, or similar on-the-go camera.
I already had a little practice in this area — during the Limitations theme earlier this year, I created an iPhone-only film from our trip to Boston. That little project ended up being selected as the winner, which completely made my month. (You can watch that Boston film here.)
For this challenge, I wanted to create something small, simple, and true to real life — a tiny vertical film of Jonah playing in the driveway. It was fast, fun, and wonderfully ordinary in the best way. And now, it feels like such a sweet keepsake of all the hours we spent outside this summer.
