I couldn’t even wait a whole day after this session to tell Mom how much I loved being in her beautiful home in Elkhart with her family. There was just so much love in the air, and I could feel it from the moment I walked through the door.
I’ve always prayed that when families come into my home, they would feel the love, comfort, and peace of Christ — even if they didn’t recognize it as such. I hope that they feel all the goodness that comes along with His presence, including the love, joy, peace, and kindness.
Sweet little Violet arrived about three weeks before our session, just enough time for Mom to start feeling a little more like herself again. Big brother had time to adjust, too, and was ready to step into his new role as a sibling. We set up shop on the couch for the first part of the session, but Miss Violet needed to nurse — which is totally normal in newborn photography! Don’t ever worry about needing time to feed your little one during sessions; I fully expect to have those moments, and they always make for such a peaceful and real part of the process.
Once Violet had a full belly, we moved on to take more photos in her stunning nursery. It’s gorgeous — this family definitely knows how to style a room!
This session has quickly become one of my all-time favorites. I’m beyond thankful for every family that continues to invite me into their homes and allows me to document the most precious moments of their lives.
