It’s funny how the world works. Allie and Ian met at Brother’s in Eddy Street Commons while they were attending St. Mary’s College and Notre Dame University. We crossed paths for their engagement session years ago, right before Ian graduated law school and they moved to Florida. At the time, I figured I’d probably never see them again. But thanks to Instagram and their sweet messages, we’ve stayed in touch!
So, when Allie reached out recently, asking if I’d capture their growing family while they were in town for a baptism at the Basilica, I was over the moon. It’s one of my favorite things to see families grow and to continue documenting their milestones.
Location Details
Notre Dame University holds a special place in Allie and Ian’s hearts. It’s where they met, where they made so many memories, and now it’s the place where their children will carry on the tradition. The Golden Dome and the Basilica offer such iconic backdrops for family photos, and it felt so meaningful to capture them together, returning to their roots with their babies in tow.

The best part of this session was seeing how much had changed since I first photographed Allie and Ian. Back then, they were just a young couple, on the brink of starting a life together. Fast forward, and now they’re parents to a beautiful crew! Ian couldn’t believe how much their family had grown since their first return to campus. Allie mentioned how hard it was to get a family photo with everyone looking nice and smiling, and I think we can all relate — it’s nearly impossible to get everyone together for a family photo without a little chaos.
But the session went off without a hitch, and I’m thrilled we could finally give them the family photos they needed, captured right at Notre Dame — their favorite place.
