Chris & Kayla | St. Joe, MI Beach Engagement Session
When Chris and Kayla reached out about their engagement photos, I was beyond excited! Their message started with a simple but perfect request:
"Hi, found your page and we love it! Will you take our engagement pictures on one of the southwestern Michigan beaches? Maybe South Haven or St. Joe? (By the way... I am not telling you how gorgeous and in love we are. I'm also not mentioning that I am a dancer.)"
To which I happily responded: "Um, yes. Yes, I will!"
Can we talk about how adorable these two are? This was one of those shoots where the chemistry between the couple was so evident, it made my job easy. Coming all the way from north of Chicago, Chris and Kayla are avid kayakers who love the water – especially the Michigan coast, where Kayla grew up. As someone who spent my childhood on a Michigan lake, I get it! There’s something about being by the water that feels like home.
We decided to head to St. Joe Beach, and honestly, it was the perfect backdrop for their engagement session. With the sandy shores, the golden hour light, and all the love between these two, it couldn’t have been more magical.

Golden Hour Magic: Nothing beats those soft, glowing rays of golden hour light. This session had all the dreamy, romantic feels.
