Granger, Indiana In-Home Newborn Photography Session
As a newborn photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing many sweet moments, but this little one might be the youngest I’ve photographed for an in-home newborn session! I met this tiny peanut just three days after birth, right as the infamous "cluster feeding" began. Ah, the memories! I had almost blocked that out, but as soon as mom and dad mentioned it, I got an instant flashback. That rough period during those first days can really feel like a blur, especially with my last little one.
That said, photographing a newborn in those early days definitely comes with its own challenges. Baby’s still getting the hang of night and day, and of course, they’re pretty much always hungry! But we powered through it all, and despite the challenges, we captured so many adorable moments. I’d love to know if you think I succeeded in the "challenge" of capturing this little one in the midst of all that newborn energy!

A Yawn That Wasn’t Meant to Be
One of the things mom really hoped for was a picture of her baby yawning, as she had this precious moment with her other children framed in the hallway. But as is often the case with babies, they like to keep us on our toes. Spoiler alert: we didn’t catch the yawn. Babies certainly have their own ideas about what they want to do, don’t they?
But even though the yawn didn’t happen, we got something far more valuable — the real, unfiltered moments of life with a newborn. The sweet, everyday interactions that make this time so special. I love capturing these candid moments (as you can probably tell from browsing my website). It’s that real-life beauty that’s truly unmatched.

A Quiet, Cozy Moment
One of the many highlights of this session was when we took a break for a quick nursing session. Mom mentioned how nice it was not to have to go to a studio for newborn photos, especially at this time of year with illness circulating before the holidays. I couldn’t agree more! Keeping things simple, comfortable, and in the safety of your own home is so much more peaceful, and it’s absolutely my style.
