Dog Friendly Newborn Photoshoot in Mishawaka

I’ve never owned a dog. Ever! My boys want a dog so bad, but I just don’t guys. It’s not that I don’t like them. I really like other people’s dogs. I’ll never say never, but I’m definitely saying “not now!” Today I got to put on my newborn photographer hat again, and this time, a doggy got to join in the fun. This is the second newborn shoot in a row where a pooch made an appearance. (Check out the other session here.)

Details I’m Loving

Including your dog is a great way to personalize your newborn session. After all, the dog was your first child, right? Fur babies can most definitely join the fun. I loved how this dog stood guard over his new brother on the bed. Watching him sniff around, making sure that lady with the camera was cool, showed how much he wants to protect him already.

Dad said, “Even yesterday, if you would have told me that we could lay our son down on the bed and our dog would have been calm enough to sit on the bed with him, I would have told you that you were crazy.” It’s so amazing how fast the new normal becomes.. normal! The fur baby and the real baby are getting to know each other already. A new little person joins your family so suddenly, and then things change every single day after that for a while, don’t they?

I also loved that Mom and Dad wanted to use this sweet handmaid blanket from a relative for their photos. A special touch! Baby got to wear his first real outfit during our session, too, and he looked Oh, So Dapper. (Heart eyes.)

Favorite Picture

This is our favorite image because it just encompasses our brand new family with the admiration we have for our baby.

Lindsey did an in-home photo shoot of our 10 day son and did a great job. She was extremely welcoming, patient, and efficient. My wife and I had never done a photoshoot like this before and it is our first son so we were expecting a ton of hiccups. Due to Lindsey's ability to prepare us before hand and execute pictures right away we were able to have a smooth and quick process and got a ton of pictures that we will remember for a lifetime!

Oh goodness, I am just so honored every time you all invite me in to your house during such an intimate time of life. It’s a blessing to be your South Bend newborn photographer.
