Granger, Indiana In Home Newborn Photographer

I think this is the youngest baby I’ve had scheduled for a home newborn session. I met this little peanut just 3 days after birth, right when the cluster feeding started. I think I blocked out that trauma, because I haven’t given “cluster feeding” a thought in 4 years. As soon as mom and dad uttered the phrase, a shiver went through my spine and I REMEMBERED. That was a dark few days with each boy, especially my last.

I suppose that’s one tiny downside to scheduling a session in the first few days. Baby is a little backwards with night and day, and constantly wants to eat. We didn’t let that stop us from taking lots of darling pictures, though! Challenge accepted! Cute pics coming in hot. You’ll have to tell me if you think I succeeded in this challenge.

This Granger mom really wanted one thing: a picture of baby yawning. She has her other children’s tiny yawns hanging in the hallway. Spoiler alert: no dice. Babies have a way of asserting their own independence so early, don’t they? Thankfully, mom was very understanding. As a seasoned mom, she knows you just can’t make a baby do something they don’t want to do!

What we DID get, despite breaking the cardinal rule of letting a sleeping baby lie, is a lot a real-life pictures of what having a newborn looks like. I for one, LOVE the real life stuff (can you tell from poking around my website?), and think it’s beauty is second-to-none.

During one of several quick nursing breaks, mom mentioned how nice it is not to have to travel to a studio for newborn pictures, especially this time of year when sickness is a concern right before the holidays. I couldn’t agree more. Let’s keep it simple and easy, shall we? Photographing newborns in their homes is so my speed!
